Hans Howarth FOUNDER & CEO

Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, the US, and now the Middle East - Hans has always had an intrinsic desire to understand and learn about people and culture. Paired with a passion for creativity, design, and technology, Hans founded Nomads to innovate how businesses can create more relevant, meaningful relationships with people of all cultures. As CEO, Hans collaborates with our global clients to realise bold new visions and leads our diverse, multi-disciplined tribe around the world.

Hans has 18 years expertise in vision setting and brand innovation for a diverse range of multi-national clients such as; Emirates, P&G, Sony, Canon, Rolls Royce, Ford, KLM, Yamaha, Nestle, ING, Heineken, Disney, Vodafone, Philips, World Press Photo, and Human Rights Watch.

As COO, James coordinates our offerings across Nomads’ client portfolio to support growth in Amsterdam, Dubai, Cape Town, Singapore and UK offices. Additionally, James manages the corporate governance and direction of the agency globally.

As a specialist in emerging marketing technologies, James builds teams and solutions that enable brands to utilise the latest digital technologies to connect with empower their audiences. He has led digital optimisation work with leading global brands such as BBC, Diageo, Novartis, GSK, LandRover, Unilever, RBS, Autotrader.

James helps brands to connect with their target audiences in more meaningful and relevant ways - utilising the latest digital marketing capabilities in social media, search engine marketing, mobile marketing, blogger outreach programs and digital advertising campaigns.

While directing our strategic teams around the world, Lisa also works as global strategist for Pampers and Emirates and acts as catalyst for business development on all our existing and prospective clients.

Like a true global Nomad, she has lived on four continents and spent most of her career on international brands across all major sectors - finance, IT, telecoms, travel, automotive and packaged goods. Her holistic experience brings together a strong blend of B2C and B2B strategy on multi-market blue-chip brands, such as American Express, Citibank, Emirates, IBM, Microsoft, Samsung, Xerox, Procter & Gamble, Nokia, Vodafone, Sheraton, VW, BMW and Volvo.

As an expert in branding, communications, international marketing as well as CRM, Lisa helps our clients employ borderless thinking and open up new opportunities across diverse cultures.

Kees is responsible for the strategy and development of our product and service innovations, as well as designing and implementing our clients’ global technology strategies. Collaborating with our data analytics and creative technology teams, Kees helps international clients such as Sony Computer Entertainment, Pampers and DKMS to create ground breaking new services and more effective marketing.

With his strong background in artificial intelligence, Kees has led R&D and product innovation teams, as well as authoring software and tools for interactive application development on desktop, web, interactive television and mobile platforms. Today, he combines business strategy, user experience design with emerging technologies to transform how brands connect with and engage people in more relevant and inspiring ways.

From mobile applications and content management to digital product and service development, Kees is an expert in designing and implementing agile technology solutions that scale and respond to audience engagement and feedback.

Drawing on extensive international experience in brand building and engagement, David collaborates with our clients, creative directors, and innovation teams to make ideas that move people.

In addition to shaping our creative culture, David also works directly as global creative director with a number of our international such as Emirates Airline, P&G, De Lage Landen and Rolls Royce Marine.

David has been a pioneer of combining traditional storytelling with new interactive marketing techniques to generate ideas that entertain, inform and ultimately inspire people. From creating brand platforms that drive communications, new products and services, to producing episodic content and campaigns, David helps businesses engage people in compelling ways.

As a seasoned advertising and marketing communications veteran with a passion for organisational management and talent development, Henk is responsible for designing our working culture to innovate and collaborate more effectively with our clients.

In addition to shaping Nomads culture, Henk contributes to the wider community around us. He serves as a member of the supervisory board of the Dutch Institute of Architecture, Design and E-Culture - supporting design disciplines and examining the meaning of architecture, design and e-culture for society. He’s also a member of the board of trustees for the Sluyterman van Loo Foundation working on the Projects for the Elderly Foundation to promote the well-being of the elderly.

Henk combines his deep professional experience in strategy, branding and corporate relations to shape Nomads’ large-scale, global accounts and build our high-performing teams. Having managed leading agencies and directed global integrated campaigns, Henk also helps optimise our client services, program and project management practices for clients of every shape and size.

Mats Frisk MD Singapore

Mats oversees our client service teams, high-level client relations and business development in Asia and beyond. He currently oversees Rolls-Royce Marine’s global marketing business as well as helping our other international clients innovate in Asian markets.

Prior to Nomads, Mats spent much of his career pioneering the development of customer experiences for digital environments as well as developing and implementing global digital marketing strategies for Sony Ericsson and Cybercom International. As the director of Sony Ericsson’s internet competence centre, he oversaw annual budgets, managed all operational teams and directed critical customer-focused digital marketing channels.

With a strong understanding and experience of managing global brands as well as all aspects of digital marketing and customer experience platforms, Mats enables our clients to approach digital marketing and service innovation in a strategic, yet creative manner.

Detria Williamson MD DUBAI

Detria oversees our agency and business development in the Middle East. She collaborates with Emirates’ brand and marketing teams to develop their global brand communications and innovation strategies and platforms. With extensive experience in the region, Detria also advises our international clients on Middle Eastern markets.

Prior to Nomads, Detria built her broad brand and marketing expertise inside some of the world’s leading hospitality, media and entertainment networks including Jurmeirah Hotels & Resorts, Discovery Communications, Viacom and ESPN.

With a her expertise in managing global brands through all touch-points and channels, Detria helps our clients align their marketing and communications plans across strategic areas such as sponsorship and partnership with consumer engagement and service experiences to develop more effective integrated initiatives - going from initial strategy through to production and market toolkit delivery.

Ben Cook MD UK & Cape Town

As the Managing Director for the UK and South Africa regions of Nomads, Ben serves as the operational lead, oversees client service teams, and manages high-level client relations and business development. He currently directs global search campaigns for Diageo, Novartis, SKINS, Britannia Pharmaceuticals, Hawes & Curtis, and Pampers. Across all our offices, Ben heads up our search and social optimisation offering.

In addition to helping clients develop innovative solutions to engage and empower people, Ben helps people give back to the environment as well. He co-founded Amazing Forest enabling people all over the world to help reverse deforestation in the Amazon rainforest by purchasing and planting a tree in their name. From 2011 to 2012, Amazing Forest planted over 15,000 native trees in Brazil.

With a deep understanding of all aspects of digital marketing and a specific expertise in search engine optimisation, Ben helps companies create and improve their search engine marketing, mobile marketing, blogger outreach programs and digital advertising campaigns.
